Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02), Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, and Congresswoman Emily Randall (WA-06) introduced the Federal Employees Civil Relief Act, legislation to protect federal employees and contractors from financial harm during government shutdowns or breaches of the federal debt limit. Senator Brian Schatz (HI) has introduced a companion bill in the Senate.

Today, Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02), Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, stood with members of the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Region 3 and local labor leaders at Independence Mall to demand an end to the Republican government shutdown that is hurting Pennsylvania’s workers and families. Boyle also called on Republicans in Congress to address the looming health care crisis created by their cuts to Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act, and Medicare.
