Congressional App Challenge

The 2021 Congressional App Challenge is now open! Middle and high school students living and/or attending school in Pennsylvania’s Second Congressional District (PA-02) with a passion for coding should apply. This is a chance to show your passion for an issue and bring your tech skills to Congress. You can check who represents you in Congress here.

Additionally, students can register as individuals or as teams of up to four people. The district-related rules for teams are as follows:

  • If you are in a team of 2, one of you must be eligible to compete in that district
  • If you are in a team of 3, two of you must be eligible to compete and the third teammate need not be
  • If you are in a team of 4, at least half of you (so 2) must be eligible to compete in that district.
  • Students who do not reside or go to school in a participating district may join a team where at least half of the students are eligible.

Participants can create an app on any topic of their choice. If you win, there are some great perks. First-place winners could also see their app displayed in the U.S. Capitol for all to see!

If a student plans on entering this competition, make sure they register and submit their app by November 1st.

Find more details on eligibility rules here. You can also visit the Congressional App Challenge website to learn more.
