CAPITOL HILL—
The U.S. House of Representatives on Monday passed the Electrify Africa Act, after nearly two years of trying to get the measure through both chambers of Congress. It now goes to President Barack Obama for his signature.
The bill will provide a framework for a major public-private partnership between the United States and sub-Saharan African countries to help millions of people gain access to reliable electricity.

Congressman Boyle gave a speech today in support of a Bill that integrates with/and supports the International Megan's Law. It is a law that aims to prevent child sex offenders and traffickers from exploiting vulnerable children when they cross an international border. This bill would establish an "Angel Watch Center" within Immigration and Customs Enforcement to provide advance notice to foreign governments when a convicted child sex offender travels to their country. This bill will hopefully prevent some of these horrific crimes from taking place.

Congressman Brendan Boyle, D-13, introduced legislation Monday to close a loophole that, he said, could help a foreign terrorist enter the U.S. with minimal screening.
The bill, HR 4173, would require any foreign individual who has traveled to Iraq and Syria within the past five years to apply for a regular visitor visa, rather than the expedited U.S. visa waiver program.

Washington, DC– Congressman Brendan Boyle (D-PA-13) has introduced common-sense legislation to close a loophole in our national security laws that could facilitate a foreign terrorist's entry into the United States with minimal screening. Specifically, H.R. 4173 would require that any foreign individual who has traveled to Iraq or Syria within the past 5 years may not participate in the expedited U.S. visa waiver program. Instead, under this legislation, any non-U.S. Citizen who has recently traveled to Iraq or Syria looking to come to the U.S.
