BOYLE APPLAUDS WHITE HOUSE SETTING ENFORCEABLE PFAS STANDARDS

October 18, 2021

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02), today praised the Biden Administration's decision to set enforceable drinking water limits on PFAS chemicals which have turned up in the water supplies of communities around the country.

"Several years ago, I introduced legislation to regulate PFAS chemicals with enforceable standards," said Congressman Boyle. "So I applaud the Biden Administration today for taking this approach. Without these enforceable regulations, the EPA and other enforcement agencies are essentially unable to take on this crisis that has plagued families in my community and across the nation for too long now. When we turn on the faucet to drink water, we should not have to worry about the safety of the water that is going into our bodies. Enforceable regulations on PFAS are long overdue."

Congressman Boyle is a founding member of the Congressional PFAS Task Force. He has secured more than $160 million in government funding for cleaning up, studying, and preventing future PFAS contamination.
