Boyle Introduces Resolution Calling for World Bank to Lead Global Recovery Effort
PHILADELPHIA, PA – Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) introduced H.Res.939, a resolution supporting the World Bank to lead a worldwide COVID-19 economic recovery effort.
“The coronavirus has halted our global economy as it continues to spread in nearly every country,” said Congressman Boyle. “Nations need to collectively work together now more than ever to overcome our shared challenges and create a brighter future. That’s why I introduced this resolution highlighting the need for the World Bank to lead a global economic recovery effort. Many countries will simply not survive the economic toll of this pandemic without international help. We cannot recover alone. The World Bank was created to promote the very development work that is now so desperately needed in a post-coronavirus world.”
The World Bank was established in 1944 with the mission to provide financial assistance to developing countries to promote economic development.
