Boyle Statement on Biden Executive Order Reversing Trump Transgender Service Ban

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) released the following statement on President Biden's Executive Order today lifting the Pentagon's ban on transgender people serving in the military:

"President Biden restored a pledge to America that no one with the strength and bravery to serve in the United States military should be turned away because of who they are. The Trump transgender military ban was a cruel decision designed only to humiliate transgender Americans who bravely stepped forward to serve our country. Turning these brave individuals away only served to weaken our military readiness and was a complete betrayal of the values we hold as Americans. President Biden's reversal of this horrible action serves as a reminder that these core American values are stronger and more durable than any one person, political party, or elected official."
