BOYLE STATEMENT ON BIDEN-PUTIN SUMMIT IN SWITZERLAND

June 16, 2021

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02), member of the US delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, released the following statement on the Biden-Putin Summit in Geneva, Switzerland today:

"How great it feels to again have an American President standing up for America and our allies and against an authoritarian thug like Vladimir Putin," said Congressman Boyle. "President Biden laid down a marker that was long overdue. Unlike his predecessor, President Biden is siding with our own intelligence services and armed forces, and not a Russian dictator.

Congressman Boyle is currently tasked with drafting a NATO-PA report on how the alliance can best oppose Russian aggression. Boyle further stated, "I fully support the President's strong and sensible approach in dealing with this proven bad actor."

Congressman Boyle was appointed by House Speaker Pelosi to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. Since 1955, it gathers legislators from NATO's member nations to work toward a mutual understanding of global security issues and strengthen the alliance. The Assembly serves as an essential link between NATO and the parliaments of the NATO nations in order to provide better understanding of the Alliance's objectives and missions among legislators and citizens of the Alliance.
