BOYLE STATEMENT ON END OF MILITARY PRESENCE IN AFGHANISTAN

August 31, 2021

PHILADELPHIA - Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) released the following statement today after the U.S. presence in Afghanistan came to an end after 20 years:

"Yesterday afternoon, General McKenzie of the U.S. Central Command announced the last U.S. military service members departed Kabul, marking the end of the United States' 20-year military presence in Afghanistan. I want to express my undying appreciation to all those servicemen and servicewomen who fought in Afghanistan over these two decades. I especially am thinking today of the families who lost loved ones while serving bravely in Afghanistan."
"I commend President Biden for having the political courage to finally bring our American military involvement in Afghanistan to an end. I firmly believe he made the right decision."
