BOYLE STATEMENT ON FINLAND JOINING NATO

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02), who serves as Political Committee Chair for the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and the chair of the Congressional EU Caucus, released the following statement regarding Finland officially becoming the 31st member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO):
"I applaud the news that Finland has officially become the newest member of NATO. Finland’s sovereign and strategic decision to join the alliance sends a clear message to the world that it is prepared to meet the challenges posed by our adversaries. This welcomed news is yet another clear example of how Putin’s unprovoked and brutal war in Ukraine has united the democratic world around Ukraine and Europe. I commend our NATO allies for their swift action regarding the ratification of the protocols of accession that brings Finland into the NATO alliance and look forward to working with my new Finnish colleagues at our next NATO Parliamentary Assembly in May.”
