Boyle Statement on Inauguration of President Joseph R. Biden

January 20, 2021

WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) released the following statement following today's swearing in of Joseph R. Biden as the 46th President of the United States:

"Our long, national nightmare is over."

"I congratulate Joe Biden on being sworn in as the 46th President of the United States. Almost two years ago, I formally endorsed Joe on the same morning he announced his candidacy. I thought then, and still believe today, Joe Biden is the right person at the right time to help us emerge from this period of profound crisis in our nation."

"President Biden has pledged to take immediate action to start addressing our problems and build back better. I am 100% confident that he will be a president who keeps his promises. I look forward to working with the president to deliver relief to millions of Americans that are struggling, reverse the gravest damages of the Trump administration, and to also start moving our country forward."

"I intend to use my position in Congress on the Ways & Means Committee to work with the President to achieve legislative solutions to critical problems. I will work towards solutions such as the President's Build Back Better recovery proposal to create millions of good-paying union jobs, improve voting rights, fight climate change, increase the minimum wage, combat violence against women, and much more."
