BOYLE STATEMENT ON PRESIDENT BIDEN'S STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Pennsylvania Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02), Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released a statement on President Biden’s State of the Union address:
“Three years ago, President Biden took office in the midst of a deadly global pandemic, an unprecedented economic crisis, and just days after a violent attack on our nation’s Capitol. Three years and nearly 15 million jobs created later, America is back and stronger than ever. Thanks to Democratic investments, we are rebuilding our nation’s roads and bridges, lowering health care and prescription drug costs, and working towards an economy that works for every American, not just the ultra-wealthy and well-connected.”
“As the President laid out, Democrats will keep working to lower costs, to fix our broken immigration system, and to tackle corporate price-gouging. At the same, Democrats will not shrink from our commitment to protect Social Security and Medicare and we will reject Republican attacks on the vital programs that American families rely on.”
“While Republicans fight for the attention of Donald Trump, Democrats are fighting for the people. While they try to pull our nation backward, we’re working to keep moving forward, and we will finish the job.”
