Boyle Statement on the State of the Union
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02), Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after President Trump’s State of the Union address:
“Tonight’s speech was the longest decade of my life. The reality is that more than a year into his second term, President Trump has failed to deliver on his promise to lower prices. Instead, his reckless tariffs have driven up costs and amount to a national sales tax on working families. Those tariff taxes have also weakened the job market and slowed our economy.
Republicans in Congress have only made things worse by passing the largest cuts to health care and food assistance in American history, all to finance tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy.
Rather than change course, the President doubled down tonight on the same failed agenda. The American people deserve better.”
