Boyle Statement on Three-Year Anniversary of Putin’s Invasion of Ukraine

February 24, 2025

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) issued the following statement on the third anniversary of Vladimir Putin’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine. Congressman Boyle recently returned from NATO Parliamentary Assembly meetings in Brussels, where he discussed ongoing security and defense efforts to support Ukraine’s sovereignty:

"Three years ago today, the world watched in horror as Russian tanks and missiles poured into Ukraine. Many predicted Kyiv would fall within days, yet the Ukrainian people have defied the odds. With the free world behind them, they continue to fight—and they can win.

Following months of Republican obstruction, I was proud to vote for the bipartisan military and humanitarian aid package for Ukraine in May 2024. Ensuring Ukraine has the resources to defend itself remains an urgent national security priority.

While Ukraine fights for survival, Donald Trump’s attacks on President Zelenskyy are an embarrassment. His reckless rhetoric undermines our allies and emboldens a dictator responsible for mass atrocities. The United States must stand with Ukraine—because the security of America, Europe, and democracy itself depends on it."
