Child Tax Credit Expansion Will Benefit 67,000 Children in Pennsylvania’s Second District

WASHINGTON, DC — Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) issued the statement below, following tonight’s House vote on bipartisan legislation expanding the Child Tax Credit.

“With tonight’s vote, hundreds of thousands of children will be lifted out of poverty,” said Congressman Boyle. “Millions more will benefit from expanding the Child Tax Credit, including approximately 67,000 children here in my district.”

“We can and must do more as a nation to help hardworking families make ends meet. I am proud to vote for this expansion of the Child Tax Credit – and I will continue fighting to build an America where every child has the support they need to thrive.”

According to analysis from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities and the Joint Economic Committee, this legislation will help lift approximately 400,000 children out of poverty in the next year. In total, this legislation will benefit approximately 16 million children – including 67,000 in Pennsylvania’s second Congressional district.
