Boyle Votes for Pence to Use 25th Amendment

January 12, 2021

WASHINGTON, DC – Tonight, Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) voted in favor of H.Res.21 a U.S. House resolution that calls upon Vice President Mike Pence to activate the 25th Amendment. This would declare President Donald J. Trump incapable of executing the duties of his office and grant Vice President Pence the authority to exercise powers as acting President.

"I continue to call upon Vice President Pence and the Trump administration to invoke the 25th Amendment immediately, so that this president can no longer threaten our democracy, its institutions and the American people. I voted for this resolution in order to prevent further destruction to the United States of America. Congress must exercise every constitutional option we have at our disposal."

"Last week's heinous attack on the Capitol by a mob of domestic terrorists was inspired and incited by the president himself. It is abundantly clear that he is a danger to the American people and our democracy."
