Congressman Boyle Announces Federal Funding for Fox Chase Cancer Center Breast Cancer Research
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) released the following statement announcing that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services awarded $626,072 in federal funding to Fox Chase Cancer Center, located in his congressional district, for breast cancer research.
“One in eight American women develop breast cancer over the course of their lives, the second-highest rate of any cancer. I’m proud to see Fox Chase Cancer Center’s best-in-class research team taking on this devastating disease. I’m determined that if the government and research hubs like Fox Chase Cancer Center continue to work together, we can help more and more women and men live cancer-free.”
The funding comes from the National Cancer Institute. Congressman Boyle is currently fighting to increase funding for the NCI in order to support more important research.
