WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) released the following statement announcing that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services awarded $343,092 in federal funding to Temple University for biochemical research on proteins.
“The principles of biochemistry underlie our entire understanding of human biology, including how to prevent and treat disease. This funding proves that Temple University remains a medical research powerhouse, generating findings that have far-reaching effects on human health. I’m proud to represent Temple in Congress and join them in the fight to bring more diseases into the realm of the preventable and treatable.”
The funding comes from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences within the National Institutes of Health, which Congressman Boyle is fighting to fully fund.
