Congressman Boyle Announces Federal Funding for Temple University Pain Management Research
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) released the following statement announcing that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services awarded $237,750 in federal funding to Temple University for pain management research.
“One in five Americans experience chronic pain, and millions more need help with pain management for shorter-term injuries. As the scourge of the opioid epidemic has made clear, the American public needs effective pain relief that doesn’t carry serious risks. I’m proud to see Temple University researchers take on this challenge, and I’m hopeful this research will build toward a future where doctors can safely help Americans live pain-free.”
The funding comes from the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health.
