Congressman Boyle Introduces Legislation to Address Domestic Terrorism

August 16, 2019
WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) introduced legislation to gain better information from the Department of Justice on how domestic terrorism is investigated.
"Domestic terrorism attacks are on the rise in our country, primarily fueled by white supremacist extremism. It is time Members of Congress and the public have a clearer view into how these cases are processed," said Congressman Boyle. "My legislation will provide information on how the United States Government handles domestic terrorism cases. Addressing all aspects of domestic terrorism is an urgent need for Congress."

Congressman Boyle's legislation requires a report from the Department of Justice outlining:
  1. How many individuals have been arrested by Federal law enforcement officer due to a domestic terrorism investigation, the result of investigation and what charges were filed in each investigation.
  2. How many individuals have been killed by domestic terrorism.
  3. How the Department of Justice prevents domestic terrorism.
