BOYLE RE-INTRODUCES LEGISLATION TO CREATE CLEAN ENERGY JOBS

WASHINGTON – Congressman Brendan F. Boyle re-introduced the Innovative Energy Manufacturing Act (H.R.507) a bill that will revive the Advanced Manufacturing Tax Credit (Section 48C)—a program that invests in U.S. manufacturing capacity to supply clean energy projects with American-made equipment.

"The manufacturing sector is the bedrock of our nation that supports hundreds of thousands of middle-class families with good paying jobs," said Congressman Boyle. "As we invest in clean energy technologies moving forward, we have to ensure it benefits the middle class and the American economy. My bill does this by not only creating clean energy manufacturing jobs, but also by investing in the future of American manufacturing. "American Made" should never become just a memorable motto of years past, rather a basic cornerstone philosophy for this and future generations."

The Innovative Energy Manufacturing Act will allocate an additional $2.5 billion to be awarded by the Secretary each year from 2021-2025 through Section 48C. Specifically, Section 48C provides a 30% credit for domestic companies that manufacture particular types of energy equipment (e.g. solar, wind, and geothermal energy equipment; electric cars; electric grids; energy conservation technologies; and equipment that combats greenhouse gas emissions).
