CONGRESSMAN BOYLE STATEMENT ON NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA BUS STOP SHOOTING
PHILADELPHIA: Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) released the following statement in response to today’s mass shooting in his congressional district where seven victims were wounded and critically injured---all victims are believed to be juveniles from nearby high schools:
"I am sickened by today’s mass shooting in my congressional district, just down the street from my old district office. I offer my heartfelt condolences to the victims, all of whom are teenagers. This reprehensible act is utterly unacceptable and serves as yet another grim reminder of the epidemic of gun violence devastating our communities. Our children deserve better than to live in fear of gun violence, and we must take bold and decisive action to address this crisis head-on."
"I have confidence in the Philadelphia Police Department to find those who committed this heinous act. We must take decisive action, at all levels of government, to meet the imperative that this moment demands by removing these deadly firearms from our streets. We also must ensure that those who commit gun-related offenses face swift prosecution for their destructive actions.”
