CONGRESSMAN BOYLE STATEMENT ON PHILADELPHIA POLICE OFFICER SHOOTING AT PHILADELPHIA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

PHILADELPHIA, PA – 10/13/23 – Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) issued the statement below following the shooting at Philadelphia International Airport last night that resulted in the death of one Philadelphia police officer and the injury of another:
“Today, we grieve as a city for the shooting that took place last night at Philadelphia International Airport, resulting in the death of one of our Philadelphia police,” said Congressman Boyle. “We also pray for the second officer who was injured in the line of duty, and hope that they make a complete recovery.”
“These tragic events serve as a reminder that every single day, our law enforcement officials risk their lives to protect our neighborhoods, and when the rest of us run away from danger, they run toward it to keep us safe. The officers that were injured and killed last night exemplify that bravery, and I offer my deepest sympathies to their families. I also encourage anyone with information relating to last night’s shooting to come forward as soon as possible to share what you know with law enforcement, so that we can see those responsible for last night’s violence brought to justice. If you have information, please do the right thing and call 911 or 215-686-TIPS.”
