Congressman Boyle Strongly Condemns Dangerous Capitol Rally

PHILADELPHIA, PA - Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) released the following statement regarding Monday's scheduled public protest in front the State Capitol building in Harrisburg:

"To hold a large public rally at the statistical peak of a viral pandemic that has infected more than 30,000 Pennsylvanians, and killed countless others, is truly the height of insanity. It is stunningly stupid. And it is dangerous.

The President's statements about ‘liberating' states have clearly motivated a fringe faction of our fellow Pennsylvanians to take this misguided action. We are better than this. We must trust the science and listen to our health officials, not the unhinged rantings of a President who incites people and spreads dangerous mistruths on a daily basis. Large public gatherings at this critical stage increase the public health danger of COVID-19 and will only serve to extend the duration of the statewide Stay at Home Order."
