Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02), Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, held a press conference in Kensington to highlight the harm caused by federal cuts to violence-prevention and housing funding, as well as broader cuts to health care that disproportionately affect neighborhoods like Kensington.

"Let's ensure that we save the health care coverage of millions and millions of Americans. Let's ensure that hospitals like Temple University aren't faced with making painful decisions,” said Congressman Boyle.

"This is the most historic square mile in the nation. This is literally the nation's birthplace, and I believe the $850,000 I'm presenting to you today will only help us enhance this area for all Philadelphians and indeed for all people throughout the nation to come and celebrate our nation's history," said Congressman Boyle.

“Chris's life's work embodied the best of our city, and his kind nature and positive impact he had on everyone he met,” said Congressman Boyle.

“I believe that one of the most important aspects of my job as a member of Congress is to fight for every dollar that I can bring home to my constituents here in Philadelphia who need those resources,” said Congressman Boyle.

"Philadelphia is the sum of each and every one of us, and this new facility will help advance our shared mission to ensure all neighbors have the support that they need,” said Congressman Boyle.

“My top priority in Congress has always been getting real results for the people I represent, regardless of party,” said Congressman Boyle.

"Caring for Friends has always been a lifeline for our community, and that work is even more essential now," said Congressman Boyle.

"I thank again everyone who was involved in public safety in and around Temple University, and I thank all of the officers behind me. It's never lost on me just what an enormously difficult job each and every one of you have in terms of keeping us safe," said Congressman Boyle.
