Congressman Brendan Boyle Demands Funding For Infrastructure

July 16, 2015
Speech

Washington, DC- Today, Congressman Brendan Boyle (PA-D-13) delivered the following speech on floor of the House of Representatives about the need for long term funding for infrastructure and transportation:

"Embarrassing that we're here talking about the Umpteenth Patch for the Umpteenth Time. Other countries are wondering if we're still interested in leading. Let's forget the short-term patches, lets finally deal with the problem, the previous speaker Congressman Blumenauer is exactly right. Before coming to Congress as a state legislator of Pennsylvania, Democrats and Republicans came together and cast a very politically tough vote, it was the right thing to do. Both the Democrats and Republicans did it and now we are able to build bridges and repair roads that we neglected in our state for twenty years, it is time for the Us federal government to do the same, right thing, bite the bullet and lets show that in America we can solve our problems and lead again. I yield back."
