WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) today introduced bipartisan legislation, the Protect Drinking Water from PFAS Act of 2021, to require the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to set an enforceable, nationwide primary drinking water standard for PFAS contaminants, including PFOS and PFOA, which have plagued the Philadelphia region. Currently, the EPA sets voluntary advisory guidelines. This bill passed the U.S. House of Representatives during the 116th Congress as part of a larger package of PFAS legislation.

WASHINGTON, DC - I condemn today's rocket attacks by Hamas against civilians in Israel. What is happening in Gaza and Jerusalem today is not a struggle over the freedom of worship. It is politically motivated violence intended to incite even more violence and conflict. These attacks do nothing to further any potential for peace & security in that region, and Israel, like any other sovereign country, has the absolute right to defend its citizens against these terrorist attacks.

Jennifer González-Colón (R-PR) led 47 Members of Congress in calling upon the House Appropriations Committee to increase funding to $49 million for the Sexual Assault Kit Initiative, a Department of Justice program that aims to reduce the nation's backlog of untested rape kits.
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) led a letter with Members of Congress in calling upon the House Appropriations Committee to direct the U.S. Department of Education to conduct a report on the barriers to first-generation students graduating college. Congressman Boyle is himself a "first-generation" student, having been the first person in his family to attend college.

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) led a bipartisan letter urging the House Appropriations Committee to include $15 million, an increase of $5 million from Fiscal Year 2021, toward the Delaware River Basin Restoration Program, which aims to preserve the region's environment, ecology, and economic viability.

Chairwoman Rosa DeLauro announced that the House Committee on Appropriations will be accepting Community Project Funding (CPF) requests from Members. This is in addition to the standard programmatic and language-based requests. Each Member is limited to no more than 10 Community Project Funding requests across all subcommittees for Fiscal Year 2022 and there is no guarantee that all requested projects will be funded.
