WASHINGTON — Philadelphia's three congressmen on Friday urged House leaders to devote federal money to repairing the city's schools, which are suffering from mold, deteriorated asbestos, and peeling lead paint.
The letter from Democrats Bob Brady, Brendan Boyle and Dwight Evans came in response to the Inquirer and Daily News series "Toxic City: Sick Schools," which detailed the conditions and the sometimes devastating health consequences for school children.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressmen Brendan F. Boyle (D-PA) and Brian K. Fitzpatrick (R-PA) led a bipartisan letter demanding the release of a study on the human health effects of perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) that was recently suppressed by EPA staff out of concern for negative public relations. The letter also demands an explanation for the study's suppression.

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Protesters gathered at City Hall on Monday, amid the historic transition of moving the U.S. embassy in Israel, from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
[That same day], Philadelphia, for the first time in the city's history, raised the Israeli flag over City Hall on the 70th anniversary of Israel's Independence Day.
"We are ecstatic to be able to celebrate Israel in this way," Naomi Adler, president & CEO of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, said.

For almost two decades, silt has built up on the floor of the Schuylkill, slowly threatening navigation and safety.
All along, the Schuylkill Navy, Boathouse Row's umbrella organization, has been pressing to have the river dredged. If it doesn't happens soon, the mud could muck up Philadelphia's status as the nation's premiere regatta city and all its accompanying recreational, scholastic, and economic benefits.

U.S. Rep. Brendan Boyle, D-Pa, grew up in the Olney neighborhood of upper North Philadelphia. There, the congressman's mother worked as a crossing guard shepherding school children across bustling North 5th Street, the neighborhood's shop-lined commercial spine. Back then, Olney was mostly Irish and Italian, but today it is one of the most racially and linguistically diverse areas in the city.

PHILADELPHIA, PA– Today, Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-13), Philadelphia City Council President Darrell L. Clarke and 9th District Councilwoman Cherelle Parker joined with Olney neighborhood stakeholders and business owners to condemn President Trump's reckless 2019 Budget proposal and the damaging effects it would have on the business corridor that comprises the North 5th Street section of Philadelphia.

WASHINGTON, DC – Last night, the U.S. Senate passed Congressman Brendan F. Boyle's (PA-13) bill, H.R. 2873, to designate the post office at 207 Glenside Avenue in Wyncote, PA as the "Staff Sergeant Peter Taub Post Office Building." Sergeant Taub, a fallen hero from Congressman Boyle's district, made the ultimate sacrifice for his country when a suicide bomber took his life in Afghanistan in December 2015. The House of Representatives passed this legislation on November 15, 2017. The President is expected to sign this bill into law soon.
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Brendan Boyle (PA-13) issued the following statement after entering into a friendly Super Bowl wager with Massachusetts Congressman Joe Kennedy III (MA-04). Boyle is betting that his Philadelphia Eagles will take home the coveted super bowl trophy this weekend over Kennedy's hometown New England Patriots. The stakes are high – Philly's iconic cheesesteak vs. New England's Boston Cream Pie.

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-13) released the following statement today after Rep. Bob Brady (PA-O1) announced that he will not seek re-election:
"Since coming to Congress I've gotten to know Bob well. I value our friendship and working closely together to help the city we both love. Bob is a proud son of Philadelphia. He loves our city and would do anything to help anyone. No one has a bigger heart than Bob."
