WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-13) led 33 bipartisan Members of Congress in calling for increased funding for the Department of Justice's Sexual Assault Kit Initiative. Developed and launched in 2015, the Initiative provides funding through a $41 million competitive grant program to help local jurisdictions reduce the backlog of rape kits that have never been submitted to a crime lab.

Currently, the EPA sets voluntary advisory guidelines.

WASHINGTON – Congressmen Brendan Boyle (D-PA), Patrick Meehan (R-PA.) and Michael Fitzpatrick (R-PA) met today with the U.S. Department of Defense’s (DOD) point-person for PFC water contamination, Maureen Sullivan, Director of Environmental Management for the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense Installations and Environment. Sullivan is overseeing the DOD’s response to PFC contamination from firefighting foams nationwide.

Congressman Brendan Boyle, Congressman Patrick Meehan, and Horsham Township Council will be hosting an expert panel discussion on the area's water quality at 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. on Monday, August 29 at Hatboro-Horsham High School.
The panel will include representatives from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), and the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
