Washington, DC- Today, Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (D-PA-13) was proud to see the U.S. House of Representatives pass bipartisan, common-sense legislation that he introduced with Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA-49) to waive passport fees for first responders traveling abroad to help in disaster areas. The legislation passed by a vote of 421 to 2, and will now be referred to the Senate for consideration. He also delivered remarks on the House floor in support of his legislation.

Congressman Brendan Boyle, D-13, introduced legislation Monday to close a loophole that, he said, could help a foreign terrorist enter the U.S. with minimal screening.

The bill, HR 4173, would require any foreign individual who has traveled to Iraq and Syria within the past five years to apply for a regular visitor visa, rather than the expedited U.S. visa waiver program.

Washington, DC– Congressman Brendan Boyle (D-PA-13) has introduced common-sense legislation to close a loophole in our national security laws that could facilitate a foreign terrorist's entry into the United States with minimal screening. Specifically, H.R. 4173 would require that any foreign individual who has traveled to Iraq or Syria within the past 5 years may not participate in the expedited U.S. visa waiver program. Instead, under this legislation, any non-U.S. Citizen who has recently traveled to Iraq or Syria looking to come to the U.S.

Washington, DC– Today, Congressman Brendan Boyle (D-PA-13) voted with 359 Democratic and Republican colleagues in the House to adopt the conference report on Fixing America's Surface Transportation Act -- a measure that reauthorizes highway, bridge, transportation safety, and public transit projects for the next five years. The measure provides $281 billion in guaranteed funding for these programs over these five years. The measure also reauthorizes the critically important Export-Import Bank for four years, which helps American workers and businesses compete in the global economy.

The Ar­bours at Eagle Pointe was en­vi­sioned as an "older adults" com­munity from the first day its de­velopers pitched their plans to the Somer­ton Civic As­so­ci­ation about a dec­ade ago. But 55 and older folks aren't the only dom­in­ant demo­graph­ic among the hun­dreds of in­hab­it­ants.

The de­vel­op­ment has a large per­cent­age of mil­it­ary vet­er­ans, too.

If you build it, they will come. At least, that's the idea behind SEPTA's first new train station in 18 years.

The new Ninth Street station in Lansdale was built to breathe new life into a defunct industrial property, the former site of the American Olean Tile Company plant. The train stop boasts bike racks and 78 permanent parking spaces. It's so new that landscapers have yet to begin on what was just mud on a recent sunny November morning.
