In a move uncharacteristic of U.S. policy as it has been carried out for decades, the Obama administration recently endorsed Europe’s version of a soft Boycott, Sanctions and Divestment (BDS) campaign targeting Israeli merchandise.

In late January, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency changed its policy on imports from the West Bank, imposing, in effect, a sanction on such goods.

Last month, as President Obama was delivering his last State of the Union Address , I sat in the House chamber and reflected on what I believe to be one of his greatest achievements in office: his leadership these last seven years to tackle global climate change.

Gone are the days when the United States either refused to acknowledge the scientific consensus on climate change or commit to a plan to address it.

After two years, the US House of Representatives passed the Electrify Africa Act on Monday, which aims to connect millions of sub-Saharan African’s to a reliable power supply.

The bill, which will create a framework for a significant public-private partnership between the US and Sub-Saharan Africa, has now been sent to US President Barack Obama for his signature, the Voice of America reported.

The U.S. House of Representatives on Monday passed the Electrify Africa Act, after nearly two years of trying to get the measure through both chambers of Congress. It now goes to President Barack Obama for his signature.

The bill will provide a framework for a major public-private partnership between the United States and sub-Saharan African countries to help millions of people gain access to reliable electricity.

Congressman Boyle gave a speech today in support of a Bill that integrates with/and supports the International Megan's Law. It is a law that aims to prevent child sex offenders and traffickers from exploiting vulnerable children when they cross an international border. This bill would establish an "Angel Watch Center" within Immigration and Customs Enforcement to provide advance notice to foreign governments when a convicted child sex offender travels to their country. This bill will hopefully prevent some of these horrific crimes from taking place.
