PHILADELPHIA, PA – 10/13/23 – Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) issued the statement below following the shooting at Philadelphia International Airport last night that resulted in the death of one Philadelphia police officer and the injury of another:

“Today, we grieve as a city for the shooting that took place last night at Philadelphia International Airport, resulting in the death of one of our Philadelphia police,” said Congressman Boyle. “We also pray for the second officer who was injured in the line of duty, and hope that they make a complete recovery.”

“I completely condemn today's attacks by Hamas terrorists against civilians in Israel. Some of the barbaric attacks are reminiscent of ISIS. These attacks do nothing to advance the cause of peace. Israel has every right to respond accordingly in defense of its citizens.”

He dedicated his life to championing the labor rights and welfare of American workers while leaving an indelible mark on the labor landscape. Tom's tireless advocacy for workers' rights not only improved the lives of countless steelworkers but also set an example for all who labor for a better America. My condolences go out to Tom's family and the entire United Steelworkers International union during this difficult time."
