"Puerto Rico has suffered from decades of economic neglect, crushing debt and a humanitarian crisis resulting from a natural disaster", said Congressman Boyle. WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) today introduced legislation to require that all newly sworn-in U.S. citizens be uniformly provided voter registration forms at naturalization ceremonies. Boyle's "Citizenship Empowerment Act" (H.R. 3770) would require officials to provide voter registration forms in the citizenship packets provided to all newly sworn-in U.S. citizens, and allow election officials to set up informational tables outside naturalization ceremonies. The reintroduction of this legislation comes in the wake of President Trump's recent racist comments.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) re-introduced the Standardizing Testing and Accountability Before Large Elections Giving Electors Necessary Information for Unobstructed Selection (STABLE GENIUS) Act to require that all presidential candidates undergo a standardized medical examination and publicly disclose its results before the election. Boyle reintroduced his legislation this session after President Trump again referred to himself as a "stable genius".

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) today re-introduced legislation, H.R. 3635, to abolish the United States debt ceiling. This comes in the wake of recent reports that show the U.S. government exhausting its ability to pay its bills as early as September of this year. Congressman Boyle believes that is completely avoidable—if Congress acts NOW before it gavels back into session on September 9th.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) wrote to President Trump urging him to demand the release of 24 Ukrainian sailors held in Russia and uphold U.S. support for Ukraine's territorial integrity with Vladimir Putin. WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R.2407, a House Appropriations package including the Fiscal Year 2020 State, Foreign Operations Appropriations Act. This package includes an amendment offered by Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) which doubles funding for the International Fund for Ireland to $1.5 million from $750,000. H.R.2407 now awaits consideration in the Senate.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R.2407, a House Appropriations package including the Fiscal Year 2020 Energy and Water Appropriations Act. This package includes an amendment offered by Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) which prohibits the Trump administration from rejecting any grant application for using the term "global warming" or the term "climate change" in the application.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Brendan Boyle (PA-02), Earl Blumenauer (OR-03), and James McGovern (MA-02) sent a letter urging the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) to modernize its current regulatory language to allow for data to be derived from nonclinical trials that do not involve tests on animals. Currently, tens of thousands of animals endure a range of taxpayer-funded testing in federal labs due to outdated regulatory requirements, despite evidence indicating that many of these tests do not accurately translate to results for human.
