The district hearing also discussed legislation aimed at improving the program, including the Social Security 2100 Act, H.R. 860, which was introduced by Chairman Larson earlier this year.

Boyle (PA-02) applauds the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for agreeing to his request to change their policy and allow lab animals to be adopted after they are no longer needed for research. The previous NIH policy resulted in the needless euthanization of tens of thousands of dogs, cats, primates, rabbits, and other animals. This major policy change comes after months of legislative pressure by Congressman Boyle.

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) today introduced legislation to require that all newly sworn-in U.S. citizens be uniformly provided voter registration forms at naturalization ceremonies. Boyle's "Citizenship Empowerment Act" (H.R. 3770) would require officials to provide voter registration forms in the citizenship packets provided to all newly sworn-in U.S. citizens, and allow election officials to set up informational tables outside naturalization ceremonies. The reintroduction of this legislation comes in the wake of President Trump's recent racist comments.
